Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot is Microsoft’s assistant for consumers. It’s a free app on Windows, the web, iOS and Android, and its paid features come bundled with Microsoft 365 subscriptions, which add Copilot inside the Office apps.
Not to be confused with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft’s separate AI coding assistant.
What it does now
- Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Teams: draft, summarise, analyse spreadsheets and build decks from your files.
- Researcher, which finds and synthesises information into a report.
- Visual help from your screen or camera, with usage that depends on your plan.
- Agentic tasks on Premium and Pro that “get things done for you”, including advanced research and analytics.
- Auto model selection. Microsoft picks a model for each request and doesn’t name the models on its plan pages.
