GitHub Copilot

GitHub Copilot isn’t a separate editor. It plugs into the tools you already use, including VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, Eclipse, Neovim and Zed, and also works on github.com, in GitHub Mobile and from the terminal through the Copilot CLI.

  • Inline suggestions and next-edit predictions as you type.
  • Agent mode in your editor, which plans and makes multi-file changes and works with MCP servers.
  • Cloud agent: assign an issue to Copilot and it researches, writes the code and opens a pull request.
