Meta AI
Meta AI is Meta’s assistant. You can use it at meta.ai and in the Meta AI app, but most people meet it inside WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Facebook and Threads, where it needs nothing beyond your existing Meta account. It runs on Muse Spark, the model Meta Superintelligence Labs introduced in April 2026.
What it does now
- Chat, search and answers inside the apps you already use. Tap the Meta AI icon in WhatsApp or Instagram DMs.
- Free image generation and editing with Muse Image, including inside WhatsApp chats in some countries.
- Actions: since July 2026, Meta AI can carry out tasks as well as answer questions.
- Available on Meta’s AI glasses.
Muse: Meta’s separate agent app
In September 2026 Meta launched Muse, a personal AI agent that sends emails, manages tasks and works across apps. It’s a separate product from Meta AI, available in the US on iOS, Android, Mac and muse.ai, and you can also message it in WhatsApp. Meta says its new Muse Wonder models will roll out to Muse subscribers first.
